Lifelight 2010! :D

Only 4 more days until Lifelight starts!!! Who's all going? :)

"Veracious Vagabonds"(formerly known as "Veracity Wins") & "Grace Notes..."

Hi Friends!

Since I have determined to try to start typing my thoughts into the computer again, I have decided to have "Grace Notes and Authentic Anthems" be the blog where I will be posting music lyrics, book and movie quotes--media in general--, and so forth into. My eldest blog, "Vagabonds"(formerly known as "Veracity Wins") will be the one that I shall try to make more into my journal, and share my thoughts with you on different topics: both important and not. Quite simply, as of now, I hope to put more time into "Vagabonds," as it is the central blog. We'll see what happens--I hope to go with whatever seems better in making changes. Also I what I am sharing in "Grace Notes"(e.g., book reviews, music lyrics...)is essentially the same in "Vagabonds." So, yes, I believe that quite covers it.

"Everyone To Know" -great song!

"Everyone To Know"

Here we go
Let in the light from my window
Say goodbye to my sorrow
And hello, new day
My soul needed a rescue
A Hero, it had to be You
I know You've changed everything

So I want everyone to know
Everyone to know
I want to tell the world about
Your love

I've thrown years away
And every chance to change
It took so much to see my pride
I've thrown punches in the air
Chased after love that wasn't there
I know only You satisfy

To all the brokenhearted
The crippled and the weak
We are all invited to taste and see
To all of those who are searching
Come find what you seek
It is the truth that we all need

"Music At Night"

Rhythmic beat
Guitar strings
Chords C & G
Piano keys

Lovely streetlights
Music at night
Wanna meet me
Out for coffee?

Just don't be late
Nor be lukewarm
Burn or freeze
Time will warn

Face the music
Need the Savior
Heartbeats won't last
His forever

"I Need You To Love Me"

"I Need You To Love Me" by BarlowGirl is one of those songs that I have often thought about and have sang to
many times. May we realize how much He cherishes you and me.

Why, why are You still here with me
Didn’t You see what I’ve done?
In my shame I want to run and hide myself
But it’s here I see the truth
I don’t deserve You

Chorus:

But I need You to love me, and I
I won’t keep my heart from You this time
And I’ll stop this pretending that I can
Somehow deserve what I already have
I need You to love me

I, I have wasted so much time
Pushing You away from me
I just never saw how You could cherish me
‘Cause You’re a God who has all things
And still You want me

Your love makes me forget what I have been
Your love makes me see who I really am
Your love makes me forget what I have been

Behind the Song:

"I’ve always struggled with understanding God’s unconditional love for me. I never felt worthy of that, ever since I was a little kid. I think a lot of us believe that we’re unlovable and that we’ve got to clean ourselves up. We mess up over and over again. We’ve got so much sin. We feel so terrible about ourselves. So I said, “OK, God. Love me--even though everything in me wants to push You away until I can prove to You that I am worthy of love.” I came to the girls with the idea for ‘I Need You to Love Me,’ and they went, “Yeah, we can relate.” They were amazing in helping me get the words out and writing the music. It was a great group effort." - Becca Barlow (BarlowGirl)

The Shack

Having read the book, The Shack, I am wondering what y'all think about it. Please feel free to share your thoughts about this book. On a scale of one to ten, I would give it about a seven. What I appreciated most about the book, was how the author emphasized how we need to have a relationship with the Savior, instead of some religion that favors legalism. I'm waiting to hear what you think! :)
